Existing since 1936, it was sold in 1993 to Torrefação Negrita. On the façade of the shop, two bright red windows are framed by black marble. Inside, on the counter, you can find the scales and traditional mills, also in a garish red, and next door, a huge grinding machine with millstones. On the shelves of the wooden cabinets, you can find tea - packed and loose - chocolates, sweets, and accessories for making coffee. In the back, large glass panels evoke the emblem of the house - the ‘Carioca’ (Brazilian Negro woman) holding a cup of steaming coffee.

‘A Carioca’ handles coffee from the green bean, handling its roasting, to the grinding and confectioning into lots. Some of the pure ones achieved fame - the Palace, the Presidente, the Tavares. As for teas, it has about 80 varieties between the classics and the aromatized teas, such as China Roses.
