A cleaner Lisboa depends on everyone

04, March 2015

On March 4, Duarte Cordeiro, alderman for Urban Hygiene and Proximity Structures of Lisboa City Hall, and the president of Areeiro Parish, walked around some streets of this new parish in a joint action of supervision and awareness in the area of urban hygiene.

Throughout the city, the Lisboa City Hall surveillance brigades, that will soon be joined by teams from the parish, work daily in situations that can create fines between 25 and 700 euros. The goal "is not just to go out and fine people", but people "should know they can be fined if they don’t comply", said the alderman.
