New Ombudswoman of Lisbon's Animal House

Last September 24th 2014 it was announced, in a public meeting of Lisbon City Council, Mrs Inês Sousa Real as the new Municipal Ombudswoman for Lisbon's Animal House, by joint order of Mayor Antonio Costa and Councillor Duarte Cordeiro. 

Mrs Inês Sousa Real has a Degree in Law and is a co-founder member of the Steering Committee of "Jus Animalium - Association for Animal Rights", the first association for animal rights in Portugal, whose members must have a Degree in Law and identify themselves with the animal cause. 

Renowned as a citizen with a spirit of mission, knowledge of the cause, acting on behalf and protection of animals, she cooperated with several entities that work in this field, having been deemed to have a profile that brings together the characteristics and necessary experience for the job.
