Results of the Lisboa Green Spaces Survey

Within the European project GREEN SURGE and the Lisboa City Council Local Action Plan for Biodiversity 2020, the Center for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Change (cE3c) of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisboa, in collaboration with the Lisboa City Council, performed a survey on the most frequented green spaces in the city and the reasons for that choice.

2091 people answered the survey, of which 51% are women and the remaining men, most of whom are in the 25-44 age group. The green spaces indicated by the majority of participants as the most attended were, in descending order of responses : 1) Gardens of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, 2) Campo Grande Garden, 3) Estrela Garden (Guerra Junqueiro Garden), 4) Eduardo VII Park, and 5) Monsanto Forest Park.
