Olivais Educational Farm

Inaugurated on 16 April 1996, the Olivais Educational Farm is a non-formal educational project that includes educational and playful-recreational components. This space, measuring around 2 ha, seeks to provide an increasingly comprehensive response to citizens’ growing need to establish contact with nature and, in particular, with the rural world.

In the Educational Farm visitors can (re) experience rural traditions from north to south of Portugal and celebrate festivities within the rural calendar. Here it’s possible to experience unique moments, participate in daily specific activities such as working in the fields, vegetable gardens and orchards, the everyday tasks with pet, composting, and discover and experience the production route of bread, jam and butter, via experiences that are universally accessible.
