With the moto "a cleaner neighbourhood is not the one which is more cleaned but the one that gets less dirty", the action promoted by Benfica Parish had the purpose of raising awareness with the population, discouraging less civic behaviours and improving street cleaning.

All the children were properly dressed and respected the safety rules and participated actively in the event.

Such action is also a purpose of Lisbon City Council, not just to Benfica but to all the Parishes in town., with an investment of €30M.

The money will be used to acquire vehicles, to place buried containers, to remove graffiti and to adopt an intelligent management of the underground containers.

To the Mayor "the issue of clean up the city is a concern" and stressed the role of the Parishes. The Mayor also accompanied the children through Uruguay Ave.

The Mayor also stated that new containers will be spread through the City in order to do not be seen garbage bags in the sidewalks.

This is a pilot experience that will be used in other locations if successful.
