Lisboa is a city with many hills. They go through the slopes along the Tagus river, offering great viewpoints at high points or monuments terraces.

To know the old Lisbon you must lean over the balustrades of its turrets: St. George’s Castle turret is the highest of all, halfway up the hill you come to Santa Luzia’s belvedere from where you can watch the sun rising or setting upon the river, and see the roofs of the old Alfama quarter, Senhora do Monte and its chapel with porch but first stop at Graça’s Belvedere and look out over the Mouraria quarter. Near the Bica and the Bairro Alto quarters you will find Santa Catarina’s and São Pedro de Alcântara’s belvederes.
